To start things off, can you introduce yourself to the readers?

My name is Elsie Martinez Ginsberg but folks know me best as LC Macabre. I am the owner of TwitchTwitch Productions which hosts the Macabre Faire Film Festival in NY and now in Bethlehem, PA as we have joined forces with ParaFest2013.

What about the horror genre interests you?

The SAFE thrill of it all.

How did you get your start in acting/mode/director?

I started writing screenplays back in 1993 while living in Los Angeles, CA. This is not to say that anything you write will become a movie but thank goodness I at least sold 2 scripts to help support my life as a writer/artist for a while. Then in 2007 I decided to write and direct the theatrical play titled the “Living Dead Mafia” which was performed through out Long Island, NY till this day.

What about future projects?

After building a following with the “Living Dead Mafia” and having fans asking for more of my work outside of the Halloween month of October I pondered the possibilities for about a week. Then it hit me… MACABRE FAIRE EVENTS with a strong focus on Film Festivals. The Festival is on it’s 3rd run this May 31 – June 2 in Rockville Centre, NY showcasing 69 independent films in 3 days. The word of mouth has been so great that now a mega event like ParaFest2013 has brought us in as their Official Film Festival for Sept 6-8 in Bethlehem, PA. There are other large events already lining up to take us under their wing very soon.

What do you do to unwind and relax?

I enjoy having dinner at fun restaurants like and Olive Garden, Chiles and such to be followed by a visit to the movie theater of course. If I’m not out and about then I will organize a gathering at my home for my loved Macabreites to gather for the weekend and enjoy. What are “Macabreites” you asked? Well, they’re none other than those folks who have been supporting the Macabre Faire events since it began back in April 2012. Every event I can count on these folks to be there and so my Thank You is to organize a weekend party for them. Yes, this does mean my home is packed to the gills for those 3 days but I admit they’re some of my most awesome times spent with true friends. The Macabreite Family consists of approx. 100 members.

How do you prepare for a role/model/director?

I prepare for my directing session by lining myself up with competent actors. This is very much easier said than done. I can assure you. There are MANY out there who say they are actors then there a few who can act. Not to mention, there is a discipline that must be present from beginning to end. The discipline of consistency to ensure your vision is portrayed appropriately on that stage or at an event. Then lastly there is always the great support I receive from my number one fan and number one actor… my husband: Adam Ginsberg. No, I don’t say he’s a great actor because he’s my husband. I say it because he’s learned what it really takes and has earned his merits on his own going off to appear as a lead or supportive role in several independent films.

Do you think you've changed as an actor/model/director since you first started?

Absolutely, I’ve learned not to stray from my own vision. There is a reason I may have been chosen to be the director and so I trust firmly on my gut feelings. Peer pressure is a thing of the past.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to try a career in acting/model/director?

BE CONSISTENT and ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE. He/She who is consistently in front of eyeballs is usually the one who will get the job because directors know they can count on them. Then I would strongly suggest to seek the opinions of people who ARE NOT family or friends. They will get a more honest opinion even if it hurts. Lastly, be available for as many independent films as possible to build experience and a reel then dare to take the dive into bigger projects and don’t be afraid to ask for money for your time. You’ve earned your merits and your price.

What movies have you been in or done?

I’m in the pre-productions stages for a Short in the “In Fear Of” Series by Scott W. Perry as well as a feature titled “Psychotic State” by Derek Young. Remember, I’m much more of a behind the scenes kind of gal. I have directed a Short for the main character in my play “Living Dead Mafia” which can be found on my website:

If you not have be played in a horror movie will you do that if you get chance?

Horror Rocks! I would do a role for a horror movie so long as I don’t have to show Boobs for the role.

What scares you?

Realism in Horror Movies so films like: Texas Chainsaw, Hostel, Saw etc are not my favorite kinds of horrors. Anything with serial killers that are portrayed as “based on a true story” I usually pass on. Keep it fantasy for me like Freddy Krueger.

Your favorite horror movie are?

“The Exorcist” and actually I’m very good friends with Eileen Dietz who was the REAL demon in that film. In fact, she will be joining me again for this Film Festival in May. Then I love Poltergeist, Evil Dead, Legend of Hell House, Insidious, The Mist, TV Show “Walking Dead”, original “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark”, Salem’s Lot, Storm of the Century, The Invisible Man, Sweeney Todd. Geez, I can go on and on.

Favorite movie (not horror)is?

Bridges of Madison County, Liar Liar, To Kill A Mocking Bird, Elephant Man, West Side Story, Alien, The Last Unicorn.

What is the last horror film you saw? What did you think of it?

Last Exorcism Part II and I can’t help but wonder…. Are ideas really that scarce out there?

Your favorite song/band are?

Suspicious Minds by Elvis Presley. As for a Band…. Hmmm… I don’t know if there is a single “band” out there that I would go out of my way for. MAYBE I would make an exception for the Gypsy Kings. But as far as a musician goes… the ones I would’ve paid to see are no longer alive… Elvis, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and such. Ok ok… maybe I would head out to see Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez… Harry Connick Jr. I don’t of any others. Now, I would LOVE to see a live performance from Midnight Syndicate, Nox Arcana or even Shadow’s Symphony. Just love that ambient sound.

Favorite book?

The Devil in Connecticut

Favorite animal?

Dogs. I currently own 2 Chihuahuas that are my world. One short hair called Amber Sunshine and one long hair named Magnus Fortune.

Favorite Drink / food?

Lasagna or Red Rice with Chicken Kebob while my favorite beverage is COKE-COLA. I swear there’s got to be something in that stuff to keep me so addicted.

If you got three wishes what would they be?

Wish #1: Live to be a ripe old age of my own choice while holding on to my sanity, my agility, my current looks, money enough to obtain the things a def need to survive and have the pleasure to buy reasonable luxury things every so often, great health as I am surrounded by people who love me and I love them while still experiencing opinions that may not be what I was hoping for but would help to make me grow to be better as I maintain a perfect balance between being satisfied and wanting more as I live in a world that although not perfect exists without pollutants, racism, slavery of any kind, dominating government or dictatorship, absolute poverty or thoughts of perversion of ANY kind with an appreciation of others religious beliefs that should all consist of NO HARM to anyone be it animal, human or planet.

Wish #2: If I missed something of importance in Wish #1 that I may edit at ANY TIME.

Wish # 3: To Own a Time Travel Machine that would take me anywhere in the entire universe free from harm with the ability at all times to return to wherever I want whenever I want.

Where can we found out more about you and your work?

What is the funniest and craziest you have done so far?

I find the funny with just about every day so that’s a hard one to answer. The craziest? Hmmm… Leaving my career that provided me a nice and steady paycheck every week to pursue my dreams which doesn’t guarantee a nice and steady paycheck.

Favorite country or place?

The United States. We have so many beautiful places right here and with my fear of flying why drive myself crazy about traveling elsewhere when I can drive for days? Although, I have traveled to Rarotonga which was beautiful but I’ve never visited Europe. There was that curious youngster in me many moons ago who really wanted to visit Italy, Greece, Sweden, London and other places but now I just settled for pictures and hearing the voices from my new friends in those places over the phone.

Werewolves or vampire movies?

They’ve both lost their touch but I’d have to say the old school vampire films rock.

What is the best thing with your work?

The multi-faceted world of filmmaking. I’ve met so many independent filmmakers who truly love their craft and are always coming from a different place when they create. I just love seeing it brainstormed then on the big screen. It’s magic in my eyes.

Did you know anything about sweden?

Aside from very handsome men? No.

Will you say anything else to the people some read this interview some i forgot to ask about?

I think I’m zapped right now ;) Oh yes! I just remember, we also have a radio show called “POD OF THE DEAD”

Also, I’m accepting submissions for the Film Festival this Sept 6-8, 2013 as well as our Jan 17-19, 2014.
